The Ullswater Inn, located on Ullswater Lake District, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to ensure facilities are safe, comfortable and in good condition. You will perform daily checks on boilers, electrical systems and fire safety equipment, and conduct regular inspections of roofs, gutters, and outdoor areas while supporting both planned and reactive repairs.

Ideal candidates bring basic plumbing, electrical and joinery skills, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

• Basic plumbing, electrical, and joinery skills are essential.
• Experience maintaining facilities and safety equipment is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily checks on boilers, electrical systems and fire safety equipment.
• Inspect and replace light bulbs and secure fire doors.
• Inspect roofs, gutters, and walkways; maintain outdoor areas including gardening and external housekeeping.
• Handle planned maintenance tasks and unplanned repairs with a proactive approach.
