Maintenance Assistant

Band 3, Permanent, 37.5 Hours per week

We need a maintenance assistant to join our team to help keep our hospital environment safe, operational by supporting the health and wellbeing of our patients, staff and visitors – day in day out, it’s a blend of planned maintenance coupled with emergency repairs and everything in between.

Responsibilities

As an Estates Maintenance Worker, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our hospitals remain safe, functional, and comfortable for patients, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planned Maintenance: Executing a range of planned maintenance tasks to keep our buildings and external environments safe and in good order.
  • Safety First: Prioritising safety by conducting regular inspections and addressing potential hazards to create a secure environment.
  • Exceptional Service: Delivering outstanding customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests and collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Flexible Support: Adapting to changing priorities and working flexibly to support our clinical teams and patient care.

Main duties of the job include:

  • External grounds inspections
  • Repair and replacement external paviours and kerbs
  • Casting of concrete slabs
  • General site labouring
  • Dismantling and installation of hospital equipment and street furniture.
  • Road repairs
  • General building repairs
  • Patch plastering
