Shift Pattern: 4on 4off days and nights
Hours per week: 40 hours average
Pay Rate (per hour): 18.64 PAYE/ 22.69 Umbrella

Duration: Ongoing contract

Client Summary:
My client based in Crofton requires Maintenance Assistants. The role is within the Rail Industry so will require candidates from a similar background.

Position Summary:
Working under their own initiative, to carry out routine maintenance, repair and basic fault finding work on the DEMU Class 180 Fleets.

Job Profile - Safety Critical / Safety Related:

1. Routine rail vehicle maintenance as per laid down Vehicle Maintenance Instruction (VMI)
2. Assist Technicians as required.
3. Where trained and competent, Tyre Turn on the Wheel Lathe in accordance with laid down specifications.
4. Operation of powered plant, lifting and mechanical handling equipment.
5. Where trained and competent, move vehicles around the site.
6. Operation of Battery Charging/Shore Supply equipment.
7. Maintenance of plant.
8. Drive road vehicles as required.
9. Compliance with all laid down H&S legislation and depot procedures to ensure a safe accident-free environment.
10. Responsible for keeping the work area clean and tidy and to the highest standard at all times.
11. Required to continually look at opportunities to adopt and develop continuous improvement techniques.

22. Various maintenance visits such as compressor oil changes, air dryer pressure valve, final drive oil sampling and changes, and brake pad checks and changes

Education level:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is a must.
