Working Hours: Part time, 30 hours.
Days of Work: Days of work will vary Monday to Sunday, alternating weekends.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to join our Thorpe Forest team! Work in one of the UK’s most beautiful forest locations, developing your skills while providing outstanding service to our guests.

About the Maintenance Assistant role:

Open all year round, our MaintenanceAssistant ensures our cabins are in good working order with well-maintained décor.You will complete general maintenance tasks, so a basic knowledge of using tools, fixing machinery, and decorating is desirable. You will respond to issues promptly and the ability to solve these issues whilst maintaining excellent communication with the guest is essential.This can include everything from solving issues with a dishwasher not cleaning correctly, a hot tub not holding temperature, a toilet not flushing, a door not locking and lots of painting.

Our Maintenance Assistant will ensure every cabin is regularly audited to keep standards high. Working in the Operations Team you will also assist across the location as and when required, for example delivering items ordered from the Retreat to cabins or emptying bins on a changeover day.

You take pride in delivering exceptional customer service and are happy to work with our brand standards, ensuring every guest experience that Forest Feeling the moment they step into their cabin.

Our ideal MaintenanceAssistant will be adynamic individualwho applies a can-do attitude to solve any issues that may arise on location. You will be a team player, capable of building good working relationships with colleagues. Alove for the outdoors is essential as these tasks need completing rain or shine every day of the year.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • The ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Great attention to detail, ensuring high cleanliness standards are met.
  • Some previous experience in a similar role.
  • A willingness to work outdoors in a natural setting, whatever the weather.

Pay Rates for Aged 16 and 17:

  • 16 years: £7.55 per hour
  • 17 years: £10.00 per hour
