Brunel University London is recruiting a Maintenance Assistant to join our Buildings and Facilities team. Reporting to the Building and Facilities Supervisor, you will deliver high-quality reactive and planned maintenance across halls of residence and off-campus properties.

You will perform first-fix repairs, handle compliance tasks, and help create a safe, welcoming environment for students and staff. The team of 12 supports peak periods with temporary staff.

Position Title: Maintenance Assistant – 16431

Department/Directorate: Estates and Facilities/Facilities and Operational Maintenance

Location: Brunel University of London, Uxbridge Campus

Salary: Grade from: £26,168 to £26,325 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £26,725 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, through sustained exceptional contribution (pro-rata if part-time).

Hours: Full-time

Contract Type: Permanent

You’ll be responsible for first-fix repairs, compliance tasks, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff. The team currently consists of 12 members, with additional temporary staff and contractors joining during peak summer periods.

• Trade/maintenance knowledge and experience (preferably with recognised qualifications)
