Job description

Are you an experienced Maintenance Assistant with a background in Facilities Management? We're looking for a proactive and reliable Maintenance Assistant to join our cleints growing team in Darlington.

The Package:
  • Competitive salary up to £30,000 per annum
  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week - 8.30 to 4.30
  • 33 days annual holidays (including bank holidays)
  • Generous pension scheme

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks across the site, ensuring equipment and facilities are kept in good working order.
  • Carrying out reactive maintenance and repairs as needed - including minor plumbing, joinery, painting, and general fabric work.
  • Supporting the upkeep of interior and exterior building areas, including inspections and reporting of any issues.
  • Assisting with contractor supervision and ensuring compliance with site policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and completing work logs and job sheets.
  • Responding promptly to maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and company standards.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience in a facilities, estates, or building maintenance environment
  • A background as a Handyperson, Maintenance Operative or Fabric Engineer role
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Joinery (Desired)
  • A positive attitude and ability to work independently
  • Good understanding of maintenance procedures
