Job summary

Corr Recruitment is seeking an Estates Assistant to join our facilities management team. You will support maintenance, operation, and oversight of estate assets, ensuring safe, efficient facilities and responsive service to internal stakeholders and visitors.

The role requires a strong mechanical and electrical background, leadership capabilities, and the ability to coordinate maintenance activities and manage estate resources effectively.

Qualifications

  • Experience with PLCs and electrical schematics.
  • Skilled in welding, electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Strong leadership and supervision of teams/contractors.
  • Excellent English communication for reporting.
  • Experience in maintenance planning and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintenance and repair of estate infrastructure (MEP).
  • Support PLC operation in building automation systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics.
  • Conduct welding and mechanical repairs.
  • Supervise maintenance teams or contractors.
  • Ensure safety standards compliance.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities.
  • Plan and coordinate scheduled maintenance.
  • Provide prompt responses to facility inquiries.
  • Support leadership in resource management and improvements.

Join our facilities management team as an Estates Assistant and make a real impact maintaining and improving our estate operations.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Estates Assistant to join our facilities management team. This role involves supporting the maintenance, operation, and oversight of estate assets, ensuring that all facilities function efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, along with supervisory experience, to coordinate maintenance activities and assist in managing estate resources effectively. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of our estate operations while providing excellent service to internal stakeholders and visitors.

Duties
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of estate infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Support the operation of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in building automation systems
  • Read and interpret schematics for electrical and mechanical systems to facilitate troubleshooting and repairs
  • Conduct welding tasks and mechanical repairs as required to maintain estate assets
  • Supervise maintenance teams or contractors during routine inspections or repair activities
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all maintenance procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs
  • Assist in planning and coordinating scheduled maintenance to minimise operational disruptions
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to facility-related inquiries or issues
  • Support leadership in managing estate resources efficiently and implementing process improvements
Skills
  • Proven experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and understanding of schematics
  • Skilled in welding, electrical work, and mechanical repairs with a focus on safety and quality
  • Strong electrical experience combined with mechanical knowledge for comprehensive estate support
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise teams or contractors effectively whilst maintaining high standards
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, for clear reporting and coordination
  • Experience in maintenance management, including planning, execution, and recordkeeping
  • Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
  • Customer service orientation with the ability to handle inquiries professionally
