Qualifications

  • Experience in building service systems and general maintenance preferred.
  • Good general construction background is ideal.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Basic Disclosure Scotland.

Job description

Equans is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

This is a full-time role on a 12 month fixed term contract. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Perform general maintenance tasks across the site, including planned and reactive work.
  • Work with fire dampers and associated damper solutions.
  • Assist other trades in carrying out maintenance, repairs, testing, inspections, and installations.
  • Carry out minor repairs to building fabric to maintain safety and security.
  • Respond to weather-related incidents (e.g., gritting, snow clearing, flooding) in a safe and timely manner.
  • Keep up with relevant training and development to maintain service quality.
  • Travel to and carry out duties across multiple sites within the portfolio.
  • Adhere strictly to Health & Safety policies at all times.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
  • Minimise operational downtime by responding swiftly to maintenance requests.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date servicing records in line with statutory requirements.

Who are you?

  • It would be beneficial if the you have previous experience of building service systems, technical services provision and general maintenance however training will be provided.
  • Ideally you will have a good general construction background
  • Due to the nature of the contract you must be able to obtain and maintain a Basic Disclosure Scotland.`
