A facilities management company is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for a full-time position at a hospital in Birmingham. Responsibilities include undertaking maintenance and repairs, performing inspections, and ensuring compliance with maintenance standards. Equans is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. This is a permanent, full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
What will you deliver?
Undertake improvement work, maintenance and repairs of plant, services and physical assets including testing and routine fault finding
Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to own trade, without supervision
Carry out unsupervised maintenance and report any defects or unusual circumstances to the Supervisor/AEM
Requirement to learn new techniques with training as necessary
Understand fully the inter-relationship between various maintenance crafts
PPM Checks to include, tank visual inspections, calorifier visual inspections, temperature checks, shower head replacements, TMV servicing, chemical dosing and descaling of outlets
Ensure all PPM and Reactive work is carried out effectively in compliance with maintenance instructions and response and repair times

General knowledge of mechanical systems water services
General knowledge of Health and Safety
This role includes a DBS Standard check therefore ability to pass is essential.
