We’re looking for aMaintenance & Asset Data Improvement Managerto lead our efforts in improving and assuring the quality of our asset and work data.

As part of our digital transformation journey, we’re currently upgrading our ESRI GIS system to a new Utility Network Model, which will make it easier to manage and understand how our assets are connected and perform across the network. This is your opportunity to influence Asset Management Information transformation, strategic data initiatives, lead a team of specialists, and ensure that our master data supports the delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable services.

What you’ll be doing as a Maintenance & Asset Data Improvement Manager

As the Maintenance & Asset Data Improvement Manager, you’ll lead a team responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of our asset and work master data in SAP and GIS systems. You’ll provide expert leadership in data model design, oversee data change processes, and drive improvements that enhance business value and operational performance.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the asset and work data improvement processes in SAP and GIS.
  • Driving improvements in data quality through model and process enhancements.
  • Providing assurance and governance for all master data changes.
  • Supporting transformation and digital projects with expert data input.
  • Managing and mentoring a team of Maintenance & Asset Data Leads.
  • Coordinating bulk data loads and resolving data incidents.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to prioritise and deliver data change initiatives.
  • Contributing to the development of a centre of excellence in master data management.
  • Please note this role is initially a 12-month secondment/fixed-term contract.
  • This role is hybrid with 2 days a week based in Reading, RG1 8DB. There will be occasional travel required to meet stakeholders based at different sites.

We’re looking for someone with a strong mix of technical expertise, leadership capability, and a strategic mindset. You should be confident managing both people and processes, and comfortable working across multiple systems and stakeholder groups.

To be successful, you’ll need:

  • Expert-level knowledge of SAP and ESRI GIS asset and work data models.
  • Strong leadership in data design standards and governance.
  • Experience in managing data change processes and quality assurance.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and prioritisation skills.
  • Significant technical and team leadership experience in an asset-intensive industry.
