Job Description

An experienced Maintenance and Engineering Manager is required to join a world-leading aluminium extrusion company. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will ensure optimal equipment availability throughout the plant. Your responsibilities as Maintenance and Engineering Manager will include facilitating excellent communication between maintenance, other departments, sister companies, and suppliers, ensuring high standards in organisation and attention to detail. Successful candidates for the role of Maintenance and Engineering Manager will have extensive experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment, technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining safety and precision in all aspects of their work.

Offered as a permanent contract with a competitive salary and extensive benefits, the position of Maintenance and Engineering Manager is available for an immediate start.

Duties and Responsibilities of Maintenance and Engineering Manager include:

1. Analyse press stops with IMPEX and amend preventive plans accordingly to keep the production line stops below the set target.
2. Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations across the department.
3. Actively participate in resolving risk assessment actions, risk engineering recommendations, and incident, failure, and event (IFE) cases.
4. Document all relevant activities and actions within the Integrated Management System (IMS).
5. Plan and monitor contractors working in maintenance duties.
6. Manage your team daily, including staff welfare, training, absence management, communication, performance management, and upskilling.
7. Identify, plan, and execute re-engineering solutions focused on continuous improvements working with different production departments.
8. Plan and organise Capital Expenditure Projects.
9. Ensure equipment inspections are carried out according to group recommendation/expectations and all legal requirements are met.
10. Implement and control spare parts procedures and strategy.
11. Ensure the preventive maintenance plan is updated and executed, with all tasks completed and resources in place.
12. Adhere to the maintenance budget assigned by the business plan.
13. Prepare and plan all maintenance shutdown activities.
14. Design weekly preventive plans in alignment with production requirements.
15. Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard.

Skills required by Maintenance and Engineering Manager:

• Leading and motivating a team of maintenance staff – 5 years’ experience essential.
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Quickly diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Facilitating clear communication between departments and external partners.
• Skills in managing schedules, budgets, and maintenance records efficiently.
• Prioritising safety protocols and procedures.

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00 am – 5.00 pm (40 hours). Flexibility required.

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 p.a., dependent upon experience.
