POSITION PURPOSE

The Assistant Managers will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the department, in accordance with the guidance provided by the Director of Engineering & Security. They should also be capable of managing the department in the director's absence. The role involves executing a high level of service to maintain the resort's physical structure, mechanical & electrical equipment, HVAC systems, and related equipment, in line with the Pre-Planned Maintenance programme. This includes managing a team committed to providing planned preventative maintenance through periodic inspections, while ensuring quick responses to reactive faults communicated via PlanetFM and Empower. Additionally, the Assistant Managers will interact frequently with guests and clients, requiring excellent communication skills and a professional presentation at all times. Representing the company positively to both team members and guests is essential, and excelling in this role requires effort and a dedicated individual.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Manage a planned preventative maintenance programme to ensure the building, plant, and equipment are maintained to high standards of comfort and safety, and fully compliant with internal and external audit systems.
2. Conduct regular walkabouts with the General Manager/Director of Operations, visually assessing the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the resort's physical structures, mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and related equipment.
3. Prioritize scheduled works according to guest needs.
4. Take full responsibility for the Engineering function in the absence of the Director of Engineering, making decisions and communicating results to other department heads to ensure seamless service delivery.
5. Participate in Department Shift Rota, including acting as the 4th person in the Security section.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

• A qualification in a facilities/technical discipline and experience in sub-contractor supervision is advantageous.
• Excellent knowledge of health & safety standards.
• Understanding of fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
• Knowledge of BMS and HVAC systems.
• Proficiency in PC use, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Extensive experience with CAFM systems, including administration.
