Job summary

Exemplar Health Care is seeking a part-time Maintenance Technician at Scotia Heights care home in Stoke-on-Trent to keep the home safe, welcoming and well-maintained. You will perform general maintenance, decorating, gardening, plumbing and tiling, and carry out regular risk assessments to ensure a high standard of care environment.

A full UK driving licence is required as you will drive the home's vehicles, and there is potential to utilise an 18th-edition Electrical Certificate.

Qualifications

  • Broad maintenance capabilities across various trades.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to care homes.
  • Clear communication, both written and verbal, with residents and staff.
  • Comfort with basic IT and digital booking/systems.
  • Team-oriented approach and caring attitude.

Responsibilities

  • General maintenance across the home to ensure safety and appearance.
  • Decorating, gardening, plumbing and tiling tasks as needed.
  • Carry out regular risk assessments, audits and checks.
  • Support a welcoming, well-maintained environment for residents, staff and visitors.

Position: Maintenance Technician

Care home: Scotia Heights

Location: Stoke-on-Trent, ST6 4HA

Contract type: Part time, 20 hours per week, Must hold a full, valid UK driving licence, as driving the home's vehicles will form part of the role and must be over the age of 25 (for insurance purposes).

Rate: £13.77

Our Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring that the fabrics, fittings, fixtures and equipment in the home are in good condition.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • tiling
  • carrying out regular risk assessments, audits and checks.
