As a maintenance person, you will work in a busy care home ensuring the standards of the home are maintained. Applicants should have experience in basic plumbing, painting, and all aspects of DIY. You may be required to travel around our other homes in the area.

This role is working across 2 of our sites in the Barnsley Area, which are situated 3 miles apart.

About You:

- Previous experience working in a Care Home environment is desirable but not essential.
- Experience of basic DIY skills such as plumbing, painting, and decorating.
- A committed and organised approach, to ensure that checks are completed on time.
- A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible to work shifts.
Other Duties:
- To attend staff meetings.
- Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing needs and demands of the home and participate in appropriate training, encouraging and supporting staff in their development and training.
- Employees need to ensure they fully understand their safeguarding responsibility, developing their understanding and skills to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to adults who need care and support. Employees need to ensure that adults are safeguarded in a way that recognises their choice and control. Ensure that the safeguarding and whistleblowing policies are adhered to at all times.
- Provide evidence of any untaken training.
- Comply with fire procedures and health and safety legislation and work in a safe environment.
- Complete all training as determined by the home.
