A vacancy has arisen for a Maintainer Operator to join our team at Drax Power Station.

The Maintainer Operator role exists to ensure the effective examination, testing, installation and maintenance of mechanical plant and equipment.

Hargreaves Industrial Services provide a varied Operations and Maintenance service to our client at Drax Power Station. We handle, maintain and reclaim materials including FBA, Coal and Mitigant Slurry whilst managing material stocks and transportation using a wide range of Mobile Plant.

The role briefly encompasses the following duties:
  1. Carrying out PPM and RCM as per site schedules
  2. Carrying out planned defect repairs on all mechanical equipment in the service delivery scope
  3. Attending, diagnosing, and agreeing repair processes for plant breakdowns
  4. Carrying out site operational tasks in accordance with training, site procedures and supervisor instructions
  5. Completing all necessary documents, reports and records
  6. Working with the operational department to effectively carry out maintenance work
  7. Providing an efficient and professional support service to the operational plant requirements
  8. Identifying and implementing continuous improvements and innovations
  9. Harmonisation with other HIS teams and clients
  10. Providing full flexibility to carry out required operational duties
  11. Collating, collaborating, and communicating the annual maintenance plan to all stakeholders (HIS and client)
  12. Understanding PLC control systems including inputs/outputs and the field-based transducers they are connected to
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/attributes:
  1. A strong team player with the ability to work independently and on own initiative
  2. Good communication skills, both with colleagues, other contractors and clients
  3. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines safely
  4. SHEQ requirements:
    1. Safety Rules PFW acceptor trained
    2. Manual handling training
    3. COSHH awareness training
  5. CPCS safety passport or equivalent
  6. Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds part 3/ NVQ level 3)
  7. Approach work positively with a can-do attitude
  8. Act on own initiative without being prompted
  9. Seeing all work through to completion
  10. Is self-motivated to identify improvements within our work area and takes action to implement these successfully
  11. Positive attitude towards health and safety
