Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for flexible opportunities in Acocks Green?

About the role

ABC Teachers are seeking experienced and compassionate individuals to join our supply team, supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in our mainstream secondary schools.

As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant with ABC Teachers, you will be placed in various mainstream schools across Acocks Green. Your role will involve providing tailored support to students with special educational needs, helping them to achieve their full potential within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with a range of SEN requirements, including Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia, within a mainstream classroom setting.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement individualized learning plans and provide one-to-one support where necessary.
  • Foster the social and emotional development of students.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and parents to monitor student progress.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Mainstream Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within an SEN or mainstream setting.
  • A strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and challenges.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN.
  • Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
  • experience in a similar position or 5 days in sole charge of a group of children in the last 10 years.
