Main Saw line Operator

BSW Timber - Dalbeattie DG5 4PL

Rotating 2-week Shift Pattern

Full-time / Permanent

Due to our continued and exciting growth, we are looking to recruit a Main Saw line Operator to join our workforce across the BSW Timber site in Dalbeattie.

Some responsibilities of a Main Saw line Operator may include:

As a Main Saw Line Operator, you’ll enjoy a variety of duties whilst operating state of art sawmilling machinery and working towards set production targets.

You will oversee multiple machine centres ensuring efficient operation of the infeed and Green Mill. whatever duty you’re assigned we’ll expect you to contribute to the creation of quality timber products - on time and to specification - whilst following appropriate health & safety practices.

  • Operating state of the art sawmilling equipment.
  • Working towards and maintaining set production targets.
  • Upholding the appropriate Health & Safety practices across the site.
  • Manual Handling of timber

About you:

Ideally, we’re seeking a motivated individual who is quality focused and understands the value of the goods they are producing. A degree of flexibility will be required to ensure operations are maximised, maintained, and quality targets are met with minimum wastage. You will be self-motivated, have a can-do attitude and be willing to undertake all relevant training required to fulfil the role.

In addition, you will have:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • An appreciation of quality and Health & Safety.
  • Willingness to undertake all relevant training required to fulfil the role.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, or similar production environment, would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given.
