We have an excellent secondment opportunity for an experienced nurse to join our committed and supportive Cardiology Team. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated nurse who is looking to extend their knowledge and skills in an Acute Cardiac/Medical environment.

Main duties of the job

  • An experienced Band 5 or 6 nurse with motivation and passion to work with a supportive and committed team.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, looking to build relationships with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ambition and drive whilst maintaining excellent standards of care.
  • The ability to support, supervise and assess others in their learning whilst demonstrating strong leadership skills.

Person specification

Training and qualifications

  • Professional UK registration e.g. NMC.
  • Degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience
  • Evidence of post registration qualification(s) in ECG interpretation and management of the cardiac patient.
  • Teaching / mentoring qualification or equivalent study or work experience.
  • Intermediate life support skills or advanced life support skills attainment
  • Additional post graduate learning in specialist field including masters degree or working towards

Experience and knowledge

  • Evidence of significant post registration clinical work experience in the cardiac patient
  • Experience of clinical audit

Skills and ability

  • Able to demonstrate a good command of the English language both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrates previous team planning and organisational skills.

  • Highly self-motivated - possesses high work standards, helps others to set attainable goals: wants to improve, to be more effective and efficient measures progress against targets.
  • Customer focused - committed to ensuring a positive hospital experience for patients ,their relatives and carers
  • Should be willing to work flexible hours on occasion
