Job summary

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist Lead for the Macmillan Lung Cancer CNS Team. You will provide expert nursing care, lead the team, and act as a patient advocate across the lung cancer pathway.

You will work with the MDT and wider teams to drive service development, quality improvement and education, shaping national cancer standards and patient care improvements within an NHS setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience leading a clinical team in an NHS setting.
• Experience in lung cancer care and patient pathways.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational leadership to the Lung Cancer CNS Team.
• Deliver expert care, support and advice for patients with suspected or confirmed lung cancer.
• Coordinate patient care across the cancer pathway, ensuring timely access to treatment and support services.
• Act as a key worker and advocate for patients and their families.
• Lead holistic needs assessments and personalised care planning.
• Collaborate with the Lung Cancer MDT and wider teams to ensure seamless care.
• Line manage and develop the specialist nursing team.
• Lead service improvement, audit, governance and education initiatives.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated nurse to lead the Macmillan Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist Team. You will provide expert specialist nursing care and leadership for patients with suspected or diagnosed lung cancer, ensuring high-quality, personalised care throughout the patient pathway.
Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will act as a clinical expert, key worker and patient advocate while supporting service development, quality improvement, education and research. This role offers an excellent opportunity to shape and develop lung cancer services while leading a dedicated specialist nursing team
