Macmillan Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist

An opportunity has arisen for an innovative and experienced registered nurse to join our cancer services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. Chesterfield Royal Hospital is a district general hospital which opened the award winning NGS Macmillan Unit in June 2017. The post holder will have an office based in the NGS Macmillan Unit and will attend clinics within the unit but also support patients in inpatient areas across the hospital also.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity to assist in the development the lung cancer nursing service and includes supporting people along the whole pathway including pre-diagnosis to living with and beyond cancer or transition to end of life care. We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for developing cancer services. The post holder will have a wealth experience working with people affected by cancer and a good understanding of both local and national lung cancer guidelines and pathways.

They will be responsible for the ongoing development and management of the Lung cancer Assistant post. They will support the Lead Clinical Nurse Specialist to ensure high quality services are provided to all patients. The post holder needs to work autonomously and will lead on own portfolio of work but also be a key member of the lung cancer nursing team.
