Job description

A&P Falmouth- Machinist

Home to one of the world’s largest natural deep-water harbours, A&P Falmouth’s facility is one of the largest ship-repair complexes in the UK.

We are looking for Machinists to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. As a Machinist with us, you’ll use a range of machining tools to accurately manufacture ship components and parts.

So, what will you do?

  • Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and vertical and horizontal boring machines to manufacture ship components and parts.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Machine parts to precise tolerances and specifications using appropriate tools, techniques and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.

And what are we looking for?

  • You'll have experience as a Machinist or in a similar role in a manufacturing, industrial or engineering environment or will be eager to learn and be trained to our standards of work.
  • You'll be able to interpret and understand technical drawings
  • You'll have excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Good attention to detail and a logical, analytical and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Commitment to health & safety
