Job summary

Thales is seeking a Machinist/Toolmaker in Templecombe to support the Under Water Systems division. You will operate manual mills and lathes, set up CNC machines, and design tooling for prototyping and production.

Experience in milling, turning, CNC programming, and interpreting engineering drawings is required. Role entails strict quality standards, a clean workspace, and potential security clearance. 4 days on-site, Templecombe.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship in machining/toolmaking.
• Experience in manual milling and lathe operations.
• Basic CNC programming and machine setup on mills and lathes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual mills and lathes to manufacture precision components.
• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.
• Design and manufacture jigs and tooling to support manufacturing and prototyping activities.
• Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in all work performed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
