An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Machinist to join the EOS team in Derby.

The Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) facility is 27,000m2, with ~550 employees, and operational for 20hrs a day, 365 days a year. As the only wholly owned Large Engine MRO facility, with capability to maintain all modern Trent engines, EOS is fundamental to the future success of Civil Aerospace.

What you will be doing

In this exciting role you will:

  1. Follow technical instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent, high-quality machining across a variety of different components and product families.
  2. Operate a variety of Inspection equipment, both mechanical and electronic.
  3. Interpret manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications.
  4. Assessment of whether the quality of components produced meet required standards.
  5. Effective teamwork to resolve quality issues and ensure work is being completed to plan.
  6. Scope to train and work across a variety of machines, both CNC and manual, including lathes, vertical borer, DMG 5 access milling machine, Dantip.

Who we are looking for

  1. Applicants must have a time served advanced apprenticeship with a minimum of City & Guilds Level 3, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)/Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 or equivalent. To support your application please attach a copy of your certificate as proof of completing a recognised apprenticeship together with your CV.
  2. Experience on DMG, Danobat, Mazak multi axis machine centers would be preferable.
  3. Experience with aerospace components would be preferable.
  4. Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
  5. Pro-active, patient, capable of managing time effectively.
