Mansell Recruitment Group Plc is recruiting on behalf of a respected engineering manufacturer for a Machine Shop Technician. The role covers CNC and conventional machining, producing precision components from prototype to small production runs.

You will read engineering drawings, set up tooling, monitor quality, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve methods and efficiency. A proactive, detail‑oriented mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a CNC machining environment with ability to read engineering drawings.
• Solid understanding of tooling, processes and manufacturing principles.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high‑quality work.
• Self‑motivated with fault‑finding and continuous improvement mindset.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to develop new skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools.
• Produce precision components from drawings and specifications.
• Select tooling and work-holding for various operations.
• Manufacture low-volume and bespoke components to tight tolerances.
• Inspect finished work with measuring equipment for dimensional accuracy.
• Monitor machine performance and perform routine maintenance checks.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to solve manufacturing challenges.
• Identify opportunities to improve methods, workflow and productivity.
• Assist with new manufacturing techniques and workshop practices.
• Maintain a safe, organized working environment.
