About the role: Teacher in Machinery and Habitat Maintenance

Activate Learning is seeking a Machinery and Habitat Maintenance Teacher to join our Land-based teaching team at Merrist Wood College.

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, and creative individuals who can inspire students pursuing careers in Countryside Management, Arboriculture, Horticulture, or Agriculture.

The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge and practical skills, working collaboratively to deliver practical and theory lessons on Level 2 and Level 3 programs, and contribute to curriculum development to meet industry demands.

Merrist Wood College boasts a reputation for excellence in land-based education, situated on a 420-acre estate with diverse natural environments.

This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Merrist Wood College campus.

Qualifications and Experience Needed:

  • Relevant qualification at Level 3 or higher in a related field such as Arboriculture, Horticulture, Land Management, Agriculture, or Agricultural Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in operating and maintaining land-based machinery, including handheld and ride-on equipment.
  • Experience organizing and conducting habitat maintenance tasks.
  • Formal machinery operation qualifications (e.g., NPTC, Lantra, NPORS) are desirable but not essential.
