Description:
Experienced and articulate machine tool applications engineer required to work closely with customers and ensure their precision manufacturing requirements can be realised. Our established client specialises in the supply of precision CNC controlled special purpose machinery for customers throughout the UK and as a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Machine Tool Sales and Applications Engineer to complement their professional team.
As a blue chip aerospace approved supplier with a dedicated demonstration and training facility, they additionally supply a range of filtration and cooling systems and are looking to recruit a multi skilled machine tool applications professional with demonstrable skills and experience gained in mechanics, hydraulics and electronic systems as well as machine control software to liaise extensively with clients in order to understand their precision machining requirements and deliver appropriate solutions as required.
An example of a typical day could include the sales team providing a specific requirement in terms of a component that a client needs to manufacture – and the Machine Tool Sales and Applications Engineer will use the expansive portfolio of machine solutions available to either produce the component or demonstrate how the component can be made to the client, thus encouraging them to purchase machinery that will allow them to manufacture required components to their specific requirements.
In addition to working on highest precision 5 axis tool and cutter grinding machines, the successful candidate will also support the service engineering team in their day to day activities as required, as well as attending trade fairs and assisting the sales team in demonstrating the capabilities of precision machining solutions including tool and cutter grinding machines as well as undertaking CNC programming activities, with experience of working on MU, Schneeberger, Palmary, Dama, Joen-Lih, Wimmer, Dedtru and Schilling equipment proving distinctly advantageous.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 5 years’ experience gained within a precision machine tool service and support environment and will hold a full clean UK driving licence. You will be qualified in a relevant engineering discipline and possess excellent communication and organisational skills essential in a customer facing service role.
