Job description

Job Title: Mechatronics Technician

Imagine yourself as a key innovator at the legendary Norfolk Naval Shipyard, the heart of naval readiness! As a Mechatronics Technician, you'll maintain and optimize industrial plant machinery to support our nation's defense.

In this role, you will:

  1. Conduct comprehensive onsite assessments and preventative maintenance of equipment.
  2. Develop and refine mechanical and electrical maintenance skills for safe and efficient operations.
  3. Provide troubleshooting support for electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  4. Utilize your knowledge of PLC controls to oversee technical aspects of customer contracts.
  5. Perform routine maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
  6. Create and maintain accurate electronic service reports.
  7. Collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers to achieve goals.
  8. Communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  9. Possess a general understanding of metal cutting and fabrication techniques.
