Job description

We are recruiting for a Blow Moulding Technician (Machine Technician) to join our Blow Moulding Department at Manchester.

The purpose of this role is to operate production equipment efficiently and effectively to achieve required standards of performance and to ensure that all appropriate health and safety, quality, hygiene, and housekeeping standards are maintained.

Contract: Full time, 40 hours per week, permanent, 4 on 4 off (2 days and 2 nights), 7am-7pm

Location: Manchester

Salary: £34,693.89

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Effective operation of blow moulding equipment
  2. Full adherence to all health and safety policies and procedures, following all safe systems of work
  3. Ensure full compliance with site accreditation standards for the allocated area
  4. Fault finding using I/O listings on screens
  5. Follow correct adjustment procedures
  6. Sustain all set-ups to the required standard for optimum performance
  7. Carry out pre and post maintenance operational checks
  8. Monitor and record machine conditions
  9. Support Engineering team with machine maintenance or breakdowns
  10. Assist colleagues with bottlenecks and problem solving
  11. Adapt to changing priorities as determined by customer requirements
Candidate requirements:
  • Meet all output requirements as determined by the shift manager
  • Operate all equipment safely, achieving required quality standards
  • Drive machine performance to reduce waste and costs
  • Be customer-focused at all times (internal colleagues and external)
  • Assist colleagues with bottlenecks and basic problem solving
  • Adapt to changing priorities as determined by customer requirements

Experience: in a busy warehouse environment, manufacturing operations; excellent team worker; experience working shifts

Desirable: Food (contact) packaging experience
