Job summary

A leading food manufacturing business seeks a Machine Technician to ensure the efficient operation of high-speed vacuum packing equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining production efficiency, supporting continuous improvement, and guaranteeing product quality in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have experience in automated machinery and a strong background in food production or FMCG.

Job description

£30k - 35k per year + 5K in Shift Allowance

40 hrs/week - Days moving to Double Days

Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

A leading food manufacturing business is looking for a Machine Technician to operate and maintain high-speed vacuum packing equipment within a fast-paced, high-spec production facility.

This role is perfect for someone with experience in automated machinery operation, particularly within the FMCG or food production sectors. You'll be instrumental in maintaining production efficiency, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring top-tier product quality.

What You'll Do

Main Responsibilities (75%):

Operate, set up, and maintain vertical vacuum fill packing machinery.

Complete daily checks, cleaning, and traceability paperwork.

Troubleshoot mechanical issues and optimise performance.

Present OEE and performance data for analysis.

Support Tasks (25%):

Support engineering with maintenance.

Manage product and packaging changeovers.

Maintain high hygiene and housekeeping standards.

What You’ll Need

Previous experience in a food production or FMCG environment.

Strong understanding of automated machinery operation and maintenance.

Solid problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

Flexible attitude with a proactive work ethic.

The Package

Shift Allowance: £5,378 (once moved to double-day shift pattern)

Working Hours: Start on Mon–Fri days (8am–4pm), transition to double days within 6–12 months
