Job description

About The Role

We are currently seeking a machine shop operator. While a machining background is preferred, it is not essential as full training will be provided. The role involves assisting with machining centrifugally spun castings for the Aerospace and Power Generation industries, working with a range of stainless alloys.

Principal Accountabilities
  1. Assist with machining large castings according to drawings and specified tolerances.
  2. Ensure production meets set time frames.
  3. Perform visual inspections of machined castings.
  4. Mark up swarf drums for alloy identification.
  5. Work as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  6. Maintain safety standards and procedures throughout all activities.
The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Skills/Experience
  1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and produce dimensionally correct components.
  3. Attention to detail.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Flexibility regarding work hours and overtime, including shift work.
  7. Good understanding of health & safety, environmental issues, and quality standards.
  8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
