About The Role

We are currently looking for a machine shop operator. Ideally, you will have some machining background, but this is not essential as full training can be provided. You will be required to assist with machining centrifugally spun castings for the Aerospace and Power Generation industries, in a range of stainless alloys.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Assist with machining large castings to drawings and specified tolerances.
  2. Ensure production meets set timeframes.
  3. Conduct visual inspection of machined castings.
  4. Mark up swarf drums for alloy identification.
  5. Work as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  6. Maintain safety standards and procedures at all times.

The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Skills/Experience

  1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and produce dimensionally correct components.
  3. Attention to detail.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  6. Flexibility regarding work hours and overtime, including shift work.
  7. Good understanding of health & safety, environmental issues, and quality standards.
  8. Good written and verbal communication skills.
