Job summary

Travail Employment Group are seeking a hands-on Machine Setter / Operator based in Gillingham, Kent. The role involves setting and maintaining bespoke machinery for cutting, forming and assembling metal parts, with a focus on fault finding and proactive maintenance.

You will report to the Factory Manager and work closely with production staff to meet customer demand, benefiting from ongoing training and development within a growing organisation.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating experience in engineering or similar environment.
• Good knowledge of Hydraulics and pneumatic, coupled with a good mechanical knowledge.
• Strong problem solving abilities and ability to work autonomously within a team environment.
• Working to ISO9001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Set, adjust and maintain bespoke production machinery used for cutting, forming and assembling metal parts.
• Fault finding on production machinery to ensure smooth running and carrying out basic repairs.
• Liaising with management regarding production schedules.
• Work with production staff to resolve technical and setting issues, including liaising with toolroom and maintenance departments.

£30,000 to £32,000 per annum, Benefits include 33 days holiday, Pension, Employee welfare scheme, canteen and car parking - Permanent position - Mon to Fri, 7am to 4.30pm (11am on Fri), based in Gillingham, Kent

We have an excellent opportunity for a Machine Setter / Operator to join a leading manufacturer of stainless steel products. Reporting to the Factory Manager and working as part of a team, this role would suit someone who has good experience of running and setting machines, as well as carrying out basic maintenance and repair on the machines.

Duties of the Machine Setter / Operator will include:

• Set, adjust and maintain bespoke production machinery used for cutting, forming and assembling metal parts
• Fault finding on production machinery to ensure smooth running and carrying out basis repairs
• Liaising with management regarding production schedules
• Work with production staff to resolve technical and setting issues, including liaising with toolroom and maintenance departments

This is a very hands on role within a busy production environment, where you will be working to support customer demand. You will be working very closely with the Production Manager who will be able to offer additional support and training for the right candidate.
