Job summary

Kepak Group in Merthyr Tydfil is recruiting experienced Machine Setters for the Primary section of our factory. This permanent full-time role runs Sunday to Wednesday nights from 8.00pm to 7.15am, focusing on maintaining production and minimizing downtime in a fast-paced meat processing environment.

We value teamwork, quality, and strong problem-solving abilities. Candidates with FMCG and mechanical engineering experience, plus a multi-skilled apprenticeship (desirable), are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• FMCG experience required.
• Mechanical engineering experience required.
• Good trouble shooting and fault-finding diagnostics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Registered on a Multi-skilled apprenticeship (desirable).
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.

Job description

Kepak is a global food company serving international retailers and food service household names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts and ready-for-market convenience foods. Kepak St. Merryn in Merthyr Tydfil has combined beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef and lamb products ranging from retail ready cuts for butchers' counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service; raised on open pastures, sourced from local farmers and hand-selected by our master butchers, we produce beef and lamb products with integrity and unmatched quality assurance. We are currently recruiting for experienced Machine Setters to work in our Primary section of the factory here at Kepak Merthyr Tydfil. This is a full time, permanent opportunity working Sunday to Wednesday nights from 8.00pm to 7.15am.

Role Purpose:

To maintain continuous production and improve efficiency safely through effectively implementing preventative maintenance schedules and responding in a timely manner to breakdown repairs. Ensure continuous improvement methodologies are applied that improve the operational function.
