Job summary

Klöckner Pentaplast in the United Kingdom is seeking a Machine Setter for the Extrusion Department. You will ensure safe, efficient and self-sufficient operation of the manufacturing cell, perform first-line maintenance and support changeovers.

Working closely with the Operational Team Leader, you will diagnose faults, set machines and control processes to sustain output and quality while contributing to continuous improvement across the line.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Mechanical or Electrical NVQ is essential.
• Ability to assess risk and work safely.
• Demonstrable understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems and equipment.
• Ability to carry out basic repairs, fault finding and first-line maintenance safely.
• Follow written company procedures.

Role Overview

The Machine Setter plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, efficient and self-sufficient operation of the manufacturing cell. This role is critical in supporting equipment reliability, operational performance and changeover activities.

Working closely with the Operational Team Leader (OTL), the Machine Setter is responsible for first-line maintenance, basic repairs, fault identification, machine setting, production changeovers and process control. The role requires a good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems to support equipment performance, minimise downtime and maintain production output within the Extrusion Department.

Skills And Experience

• Comprehensive Equipment, Process and Quality training will be given
• Ability to assess risk and work safely.
• Level 2 Mechanical or Electrical NVQ (or equivalent qualification) is essential.
• Demonstrable understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems and equipment.
• Ability to carry out basic repairs, fault finding and first-line maintenance activities safely and effectively.
• Ability to follow written company procedures.
• Reliable timekeeping and attendance.
• Ability to work as part of a team & good communication skills
