Job summary

The Machine Setter plays a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and self-sufficient operation of the extrusion cell, working closely with the Operational Team Leader to maintain production output and plan adherence.

This role supports equipment reliability, changeovers, and process control, with a focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive training will be provided in equipment, process and quality.
• Ability to assess risk and work safely.
• Demonstrable understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems and equipment.
• Ability to carry out basic repairs, fault finding and first-line maintenance safely and effectively.
• Ability to follow written company procedures.
• Reliable timekeeping and attendance.
• Ability to work as part of a team and good communication skills.
• Positive attitude with a desire to develop and progress.
• Problem solving ability.
• Flexibility and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Adherence to quality standards.
• Carry out first line maintenance to the agreed plan.
• Tooling, setting, product changeovers to plan.
• Manufacturing performance to plan on a daily basis including resolution of issues.
• Process control and continuous improvement.
• Process documentation.
• Facilitating the training/mentoring of colleagues.
• Team cover on other duties e.g. Machine Operative / Packing.
• Problem solving within the cell.
• Material movement and control.
