Job description

The Best Connection are recruiting a Machine Setter for our client in Newton Aycliffe. Whether you're an experienced machine setter or someone ready to learn from scratch, we have a fantastic opportunity for you.

The role:

· Set up and adjust machines for production runs according to specifications.

· Load and unload materials and tooling.

· Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.

· Conduct machine calibration and trial runs to ensure product quality.

· Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery.

· Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

· Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.

· Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.

· Collaborate with production supervisors and maintenance teams to optimize operations.

The candidate:

  • A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
  • Previous machine setting experience (advantageous, not essential)
  • Ability to follow production plans and work to targets
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Punctual and reliable

Hours & Pay Rates:

  • £12.21ph - £13.00ph
  • Monday to Thursday 08:00am - 16:30pm, Friday 08:00am - 16:00pm
