Production Engineering Mechanical Fitter

Doncaster Plant

We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Fitter within the Production Engineering department that has strong knowledge and experience of I.S. machines and associated equipment, working effectively in keeping productivity to a maximum by rectifying mechanical breakdowns timely across 10 manufacturing lines. Therefore, the individual must have high attention to detail, work effectively within the Production department whilst always supporting the Production Engineering team in achieving outstanding results.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up of I.S. (Independent Section) machines and related equipment
  • Identify faults with the machines and make necessary adjustments to the machine if required for it to run correctly to maintain efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Maintain I.S. machines and related equipment in accordance with a pre-planned schedule to reduce mechanical malfunctions and maintain effective operations
  • Repair equipment coming off the I.S. machines ready for re-use to maintain efficiency and reduce downtime
  • Carry out housekeeping in accordance with company hygiene rules

Required skills / qualifications:

  • Gained a recognised mechanical engineering qualification/apprentice trained, or equivalent
  • Ability to carry out any related work: basic welding, fabrication, pipe work installation
  • Commitment and enthusiasm to work flexibly as part of a team providing 24-hour support to production
  • Ability to follow instruction and work under pressure both as part of a team and independently
  • Fault recognition skills & good problem-solving ability, with excellent communication skills
