Job summary

DS Smith Packaging in Porth is seeking a Machine Operator for a temporary ongoing role. The successful candidate will operate and set up production machines, ensuring quality and adherence to DS Smith processes. The role reports to the Shift Team Leader and supports team productivity with good housekeeping and proactive problem solving.

Shift patterns are 40 hours per week, Mon-Thu 06:30-15:30 and Fri 06:30-12:30, with an unpaid lunch and short AM break. Start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Able to stand for long periods and perform manual handling.
• Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation.
• Good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run machines following DS Smith processes.
• Ensure product quality meets DS Smith standards.
• Maintain and operate own machine to contribute to team productivity.
• Participate in maintenance and housekeeping.
• Support the team and drive improvement initiatives.
