Job Description:

This role involves operating packaging machinery to ensure compliance with safety and operational instructions. The position offers a rate of £15.87 per hour, including shift allowance, with overtime available at higher rates. Hours are 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, averaging 42 hours per week. The contract starts as temporary with potential for permanent employment after 20 weeks, subject to performance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Operate packaging and roll pack bundler machines
  • Change polyethylene reels and feed materials into machines
  • Operate the log saw if required
  • Stop and restart machinery as needed
  • Check product compliance with data sheets
  • Draft production control data sheets
  • Perform small maintenance activities and adjustments
  • Manage machinery changeovers
  • Support colleagues and oversee end-line processes when necessary
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping
  • Adhere to health & safety rules

Candidates should have previous production/operator experience, preferably from heavy industry. DBS checks will be conducted on day one, and a no conviction policy is in place.
