Night shift Saw Operator required at a location in Avonmouth, BS11

• £31,401.50 per annum
• Working hours – 37.5 hours per week
• Sunday – Thursday, 10pm – 6am
• Salary breakdown is £12.77 per hour basic plus £25 per day shift premium for night shift

About the role

• Program saw for cutting operation.
• Operating metal saw and tyro to cut material to customer requirements
• Checks length, width, thickness, spec, alloy, grain direction, lot number before cutting
• Verifies parts are within customer required tolerances after cutting, using tape, micrometer, and caliper instruments
• Marks each part with hard stamp, grain flow, USD, lot number
• Ensures all cut material is on a fit for purpose pallet or skids for safe packaging
• Performs daily maintenance checks to metal saw
• Operates fork trucks and jib cranes when required
• Ensure productivity sheets are completed each day
• Performs daily housekeeping including the surrounding work area and metal saw.

The right candidate

• Experience operating machinery and metal processing
• Knowledge of a production facility and manufacturing processes
• Comfortable with manual lifting up to 20kgs
• Able to communicate with individuals at all levels
• Basic mathematical skills
