Job description

My client is one of the leading manufacturers and producers of steel in the UK.
They are looking for Machine Operators who have experience working with hard materials and operating CNC machinery; forklift experience is also desirable.

Benefits:

• Monday to Friday
• 14:00 - 22:00 Mon-Thurs, 14:00 - 19:00 Friday
• 22:00 - 06:00 set shifts Mon to Thurs, 19:00 - 00:00 Friday
• 40 hours per week
• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Competitive salary: £27,000 to £31,000 per annum, depending on shift pattern

Responsibilities:

• Operating manual and CNC machinery
• Processing steel to meet customer specifications and tolerances
• Performing daily checks on equipment, cranes, and forklifts/Combi lifts
• Preparing orders through banding, palletising, and bagging for loading
• Loading and offloading plates and parts from plasma and laser machines
• Identifying steel products using measuring equipment
• Maintaining clean and organized work areas
• Reporting accidents, incidents, machine faults, and breakdowns to appropriate supervisors or managers
• Attending training courses as required
• Adhering to company quality management systems, policies, and procedures
