As a Machine Operator Laminator at Solidus, we offer you a challenging position within a dynamic and ambitious international organization that is constantly changing. The organization has a very flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths, you will have direct communication with UKBU and sales directors, BU managers, Vendors & Suppliers, Operational & Commercial Supply Chain Colleagues – all levels and Colleagues across the UK business unit as required on a project by project basis.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate our Laminating machine running solid board reels & PE liners to laminate solid board sheets for food packaging companies to specified quality standards.
• Mix glue and maintain glue system for laminating machine, keeping clean.
• Safely loading laminating reels into reel stations to consume all reel to the core and monitor change overs, Preparation, Splicing and reel alignment, Webbing & band tension.
• Ensure laminating quality is of the highest standard of accuracy, size and flatness required for converting.
• Ensure the machine is cleaned between orders and at the end of each day this includes rollers, glue section, waste skips, reel stations etc.
• Monitor and fine tune machine running speeds to make sure efficiencies are maintained consistently to achieve targets & Customer deliveries.
• Coordinate with the Team Leaders & planning team to maximise reel changeovers and output.
• Reduce machine downtime by providing feedback to engineering teams to maximise running time and output.
• Weekly routine maintenance cleaning down machine to maintain high BRC standards, working with engineering team to grease and replace any worn parts.
• Learn & operate other process lines & Machines such as folder gluers, Die Cutters & Printers when requested as part of the company’s training and development plans.
