Machine Operator (Horizontal Borer Specialist)

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our clients dynamic. If you have experience operating machine tools, especially in conventional horizontal boring, and enjoy working both independently and as part of a team, we would love to hear from you.

Key Requirements:
Previous experience as a machine operator or in a similar role.
Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical detail drawings.
Skilled in operating a variety of machine tools (e.g., lathe, milling machines, drills).

Desirable Experience:
Previous use of a Kerns Richard SH75 or similar horizontal boring machine.
A valid counterbalance forklift truck licence.
Experience operating overhead cranes for loading/unloading parts.
Sound knowledge of Safe Working Practices within a machine shop environment.

Main Duties:
Set up and operate a conventional horizontal boring machine.
Operate a variety of other machine tools including lathes, milling machines, and drills.
Produce high-quality component parts from engineering drawings and specifications within tight tolerances.
Inspect and measure your work throughout the manufacturing process to ensure standards are maintained.
Help create standard working procedures for typical manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with the team to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
Maintain good housekeeping to ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
