Job summary

Solidus is hiring a Machine Operator in Corby to operate and oversee packaging machinery within a rotating shift pattern. You will learn through our skills matrix, handle die cutting, folding, gluing and printing processes, and ensure high-quality production.

We offer a 10% shift premium, quarterly bonus, pension, Medicash and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. Training is provided for additional process lines and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Learn & operate machines in accordance with our Skills matrix.
• Punnet making, die cutting, folding gluing and printing; the more you learn, the more you earn.
• Inspect and manage the machine to guarantee production of high-quality products.
• Understand various job needs by learning different job types and assess the needs of each job.
• Maintain production quality by inspecting all produced materials and correcting any errors to prevent client dissatisfaction.
• Ensure equipment is always in good shape and liaise with engineering for repairs to achieve high efficiency.
• Inspect all equipment and materials to prevent shortages and raise issues with production leaders and engineering.
• Operate machinery such as Die Cutter, Folder Gluer or Printer; set machines for a wide range of products.
• Monitor and fine-tune running speeds to maintain efficiencies and meet targets.
• Daily and weekly maintenance following hygiene requirements; work with engineering on parts replacement.
• Learn and operate other process lines & machines as part of training and development.
