Job description

My Knowsley based client, involved in the production of Carbon-Ceramic components, is looking for experienced Machine Operators to join their growing Production Team.

Their Machine Operators will set and operate Milling and Grinding machines, producing their innovative, precision parts, to an advanced specification and high quality standard.

Role responsibilities:

  1. Produce precision parts on both Milling Machines and Surface Grinders.
  2. Interpret engineering drawings and job specifications to setup a wide range of milling and grinding operations on both repeat and new components.
  3. Setting up the machines by loading material stock and inserting cutting tools into tool holders, ensuring accuracy of tool assembly by inspecting fit and runout.
  4. Clean and maintain machining centres including disposal of waste material.
  5. Champion continuous improvement and provide feedback to internal departments on the machining process.
  6. Process jobs as scheduled on the internal database as well as entering operational data regarding milling and job progression.
  7. Action Quality Issues and support all Non-Conformance meetings.
  8. Support product and process optimisation in line with the quality needs of the business.
  9. Maintain high levels of Health & Safety standards.
