Job summary

A leading company in manufacturing is seeking an apprentice for their Production team. This role provides the opportunity to gain a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative qualification while assisting machine operators. Responsibilities include monitoring production lines, handling tasks like cleaning, preparing raw materials, and maintaining safety standards. Ideal candidates will possess 3 GCSEs, excellent communication skills, and a problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 GCSEs including Maths and English.
  • Motivated and results-oriented with a strong willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work to targets and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out pre-checks and cleaning tasks of the production line.
  • Set the machine to production recipes and assist in resolving machine stoppages.
  • Maintain hygiene of equipment and complete documentation throughout the shift.

We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join our Production team to gain a level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative qualification while providing support to the Machine Operators with machine specific functions.

Responsibilities:

To carry out pre-checks and cleaning tasks of the production line.

Set the machine to production recipes.

Preparing raw materials for production.

Replenish packaging and films to the production line during the shift including the stacking of trays.

Set up batches of production as per the production plan.

Manual handling including the stacking of finished goods.

Maintain the hygiene of equipment.

Completing documentation throughout the shift.

Replenish the PH.

Record downtime and work with the team to help minimise this.

Assist in resolving machine stoppages.

Achieve OEE and waste targets.

Work as part of a team.

Maintain health and safety and always adhere to policies and procedures.

Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement, to enhance quality, efficiency, safety and waste reduction.

Help & assist in the training of other and identify own training needs.

Any other ad-hoc duties as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

3 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English.

The ability to work on own initiative and a self-starter.

Able to work to targets and meet deadlines.

Excellent communication and impersonal skills.

High level of attention to detail.

Good problem-solving skills.

Keeps calm under pressure.

The individual should be highly motivated, and results orientated with a strong willingness to learn.
