Job summary

Masstemps is recruiting an experienced Machine Operator to join a busy manufacturing company near the Walsall area. You will operate and monitor cold rolling mill machinery, set controls to achieve required dimensions and production output, and perform quality checks.

This role requires reliability, safety awareness and a positive can-do attitude. Shifts are 06:00–14:00 or 14:00–22:00, with pay £12.71–£13.01 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience operating cold rolling, roll forming, slitting or similar metal processing machinery.
• Experience in steel, metal processing or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate machinery and adjust settings.
• Basic measurement skills using verniers and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor cold rolling mill machinery in line with production schedules.

• Load materials safely and complete production paperwork accurately.

Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced Machine Operator to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the Walsall area.

THE ROLE

• Operate and monitor cold rolling mill machinery in line with production schedules and work instructions.
• Set and adjust machine controls to achieve the required dimensions, quality and production output.
• Monitor the rolling process and identify any defects, faults or issues during production.
• Feed and load raw materials into machinery safely and efficiently.
• Carry out basic quality checks using measuring equipment and ensure products meet required specifications.
• Complete production paperwork and accurately record quantities, measurements and production data.
• Assist with manual handling, material movement and loading/unloading of coils and finished products.
• Report machine faults, quality issues or production problems to the supervisor or management.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
• Work as part of a team and demonstrate a positive 'can-do' attitude.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience operating cold rolling, roll forming, slitting or similar metal processing machinery is highly desirable.
• Experience within a steel, metal processing or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate machinery and make basic adjustments to settings.
• Good understanding of production processes and quality requirements.
• Comfortable with manual handling and working with heavy materials.
• Ability to use basic measuring equipment such as verniers, tape measures and gauges.
• Good attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues.
• Experience completing production records and paperwork.
• Basic mechanical understanding would be advantageous.
• Must be reliable, safety-conscious and willing to work as part of a team.
• A positive 'can-do' attitude and willingness to learn is essential.

06:00am - 14:00pm Monday to Friday

PAY RATE

£12.71 - £13.01
