A leading company in the food industry is seeking Machine Operators for their Rochester facility. As a Machine Operator, you will configure and operate machinery, ensure hygiene, and carry out quality checks. This role offers training and progression opportunities within a safe and efficient working environment. Experience in the food sector and health and safety awareness are essential for success in this position.
Machine operators take care of all machine-specific functions such as configuring the equipment, operating the machines, and optimising machine capability. Ensuring machines work at full capacity, oversee basic maintenance and hygiene as well as perform online quality checks. There are training and progression opportunities to grow and develop into more senior roles within the factory. You will be working within a high care class 100 environment and so adhering to health, safety and hygiene policies is of the upmost importance.
Responsibilities:
To carry out pre-checks and cleaning tasks of the production line before production start-up.
Set the machine to production recipes.
Preparing raw materials for production.
Replenishing packaging to the production line during the shift including the
stacking of trays.
Replace films.
Set up batches of production as per the production plan.
QA quality checks and CCP’s.
Manual handling including the stacking of finished goods.
Maintain the hygiene of equipment.
Completing documentation throughout the shift.
Replenish the PH.
Record downtime.
Achieve OEE and waste targets.
Feedback to the Shift Supervisor and Production Manager as necessary.
Work as part of a team.
To ensure the safety of oneself and others at all times.
Maintain health and safety and adhere to health and safety policies and
procedures at all times.
Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement, so as to enhance
quality, efficiency, safety and waste reduction.
Help & assist in the training of others and identify own training needs.
Any other reasonable duties, responsibility or requests that may be issued by
Management from time to time.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Experience of working within the food sector.
Experience of plant or machine operations.
A certificate in basic food hygiene.
Health and safety awareness skills.
The ability to follow instructions and use own initiative.
The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Good team working skills.
Flexibility to do the hours required for the role.
IT literate.
Shift Patterns:
Fixed Days 4 on 4 off
OR Fixed Nights 4 on 4 off (Night Shift allowance)
