Job description

We are currently recruiting for Day Shift and Night Shift Machine Operator positions for our client. These roles are vital within our organization. Ideal candidates should be team players, capable of effective communication with operatives, setters, supervisors, and all levels of staff. You will support setters and have the opportunity to learn setting techniques and advance within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with minimal supervision.
  2. Ensure the quality of parts produced, conforming to company standards and product drawings.
  3. Follow all company procedures regarding product checking.
  4. Operate machines to meet cycle times as per route cards.
  5. Assist setters and team leaders in improving changeover times, machine efficiency, and tooling setups.
  6. Operate punch presses.
  7. Maintain a clean and tidy work environment to minimize accident risks.
  8. Ensure health and safety of yourself and others at all times.
  9. Assist in machine maintenance as required.
  10. Transport goods within the factory, assist with stock checks, and maintain general housekeeping.
  11. Participate in continuous improvement programs.

Skills & Experience:

  • Numerate and literate; able to read technical drawings.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as micrometers and vernier gauges.
  • Experience with manufacturing best practices (e.g., SMED, 5S).
  • Counterbalance forklift license.
  • First aid certification.
  • Background in engineering or mechanics.
  • Experience in sheet metal or fabrication.
