About The Role

Our client is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Machine Operator to join their maintenance team in a busy dry dock environment in Cornwall. This is a full-time, permanent position with working hours from Monday to Friday, 07:45 to 16:30, paying £16.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate all machine shop equipment safely and efficiently (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Support the site engineering team on dry dock projects.
  • Ensure regular maintenance, servicing, and replacement of equipment.
  • Use CAD to program CNC plasma cutters (desirable but not essential).
  • Assist other maintenance team areas as required.
Candidate Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar machine shop or engineering role.
  • Experience operating traditional machinery (lathes, mills, grinders).
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, flexibility, and a proactive work approach.
